“Christine was professional and personable right from the start. Right from our first meeting I started to feel less scared and more ready for my first baby to be born. She made sure I understood the process and was available for any questions I had. On the day of the delivery, when Christine walked in my hospital room, I was immediately more at ease. My husband and I both agree that there is no way we could have done it without her. She helped me through every contraction and even when I didn’t think I could do it anymore she kept me going. I had the birth experience that I wanted because Christine was there.”

I met Christine in my third trimester as I was seeing her regularly for prenatal massage. At that point in time, I never really knew what a doula was, and was interested in asking her more about it when I heard her background. My husband and I had already decided we wanted to try a natural delivery, and the skills that a doula provided sounded like a perfect fit. And they were!

Having Christine join us for the weeks leading up to our delivery was a relief and made us feel very prepared…as much as we could have been! We discussed our birth plan with her, and she helped us make it a reality.

Our delivery day was much anticipated, as our little girl was born more than a week overdue. When labour began, we had Christine’s support and experience to rely on, which provided us with the confidence to labour from home as long as possible. She joined us at the hospital and although my labour was quick, we were very grateful she was there. Christine was especially nurturing to me immediately following the birth of my daughter, which allowed my husband to fully focus on our new bundle of joy.

Christine made us feel so calm and relaxed throughout the entire process. We would definitely recommend her to anyone and could not have been happier with our birthing story.

Sincerely,

We hired Christine as our Doula to support us through the birth of our first child. We were interested in having a natural birth if we could and she helped us make it possible.

We had two prenatal visits with Christine to discuss our birth plan, as well as what to expect in labour and what techniques we might use to help us through it. The visits were very helpful in preparing us and gave us the confidence we needed to feel comfortable and ready for the birthing experience.

Christine was available and great at keeping the communication lines open in the days leading up to our due date. She made us feel safe, comfortable and in control.

During active labour, Christine provided endless coping suggestions and encouragement for both of us. Labour was progressing slowly prior to Christine joining us but thankfully she helped things move along. We used the Birthing Ball, massage, breathing techniques, and various positions. Christine’s calming and knowledgeable presence was greatly appreciated.

The feedback from the nurses at the Grey Nuns Hospital was very positive and they had nothing but wonderful things to say about Christine and her Doula capabilities. Christine respected the nurses and worked with them to help them do their jobs.

We were very impressed with Christine and can’t imagine having our natural birth without her. The birthing experience was wonderful and amazing and we would not hesitate to hire Christine if we conceive again in the future. She exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend her to anyone interested in hiring a Doula.

Our deepest gratitude to Christine,

This is to express our great support of our doula, Christine Richardson. She is an extremely dedicated and loving person who believes deeply in the importance of being a doula.

Since this was our first child, we had no idea what to expect. We had no people around us who had children either. After meeting Christine, we knew having her as our doula was a good idea. She assisted us with information on what to expect before and during labour. What we really liked was how she provided information for both the mother and the father. She provided us with a “Birthing Wish List” so that she would know ahead of time, our questions and concerns before the ‘big day’.

She assisted us step-by-step through our entire labour. Once we left to the hospital, she met us there. She brought resources to help me with my labour. Even though the hospital was busy with other mothers, we knew Christine would be by our side. She always knew what I needed before I could ask - from lower back massage to communicating with the nursing staff. She was always there and was so strong, which was necessary, since my labour was long. There were times when I didn’t think I could make it, but with her help, we achieved our end result – and we have a beautiful baby girl to show for it!
